Training Prerequisites

There are two training prerequisites for Wood Badge.  1.) All participants must have completed the Basic Leader Training Course for the participant's position in Scouting. Outdoor Skills Training is not required but would be useful.  2.) All participants must have successfully completed BSA Youth Protection in accordance with the requirements of each participant's respective council.

Uniform Requirements

Participants will wear a full and proper BSA Class A Boy Scout summer uniform. The BSA official summer uniform consists of a short sleeve uniform shirt, uniform shorts, web or leather Scout belt, and Scout socks (knee socks highly preferred).  A copy of the official BSA uniform requirments for female Scouters can be found here, while BSA uniform requirments for male Scouters can be found here.

Please contact Course Director Andy Hudec should you have a medical condition or hold a religious belief which gives rise to concerns regarding uniforms.

Costs

The cost of this course is $220 per person. A deposit of $50 is due with the reservation. Full payment is due by July 7, 2007. The cost of this course covers meals, program supplies, and recognition items. The course is limited to forty-eight paid participants.

Please do not let cost deter you from attending Wood Badge. Scholarships are available to those who need a hand. Our Scoutmaster has a variety of sources for scholarship assistance, making assistance available to all Scouters without respect to the council in which you are registered. Should you be interested in scholarship assistance, please contact Course Director Andy Hudec. All inquiries will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Medical Clearance

A BSA Class 3 physical is required for all participants. More information on the physical requirements of the course is available here. The BSA Class 3 physical is available here.

Registration Form

The official Course Brochure and Course Registration Form is available here. The brochure contains a great deal of information about the course. Please complete the registration form and forward it to the Erie Shores Council at the address on the form.
